If you are traveling through the Wisconsin area you need to beware of interstate closures from Wisconsin DOT. Wisconsin Department of Transportation is recommending motorists take Highway 29 to Green Bay and then take I-43 to I-94 in Milwaukee.

Heavy rains over the past week have caused flooding throughout Wisconsin and highway closures are a result.

Many pieces of Wisconsin Interstate Roads in southern Wisconsin have been closed until the waters can be drained off of the roads. Wisconsin DOT is working hard to clear the roads of standing water.

Wisconsin DOT and State Patrol officials have closed I-39 northbound, I-90/94 westbound at Highway 151 (Exit 135 - Madison) due to rising water at I-90/94 westbound at the Baraboo River (Highway 33).

Other Wisconsin DOT Closures include the following roads:

  • I-94 westbound at the Crawfish River Bridge west of Johnson Creek
  • I-90/94 eastbound at WIS 82 in Juneau County
  • I-39 southbound at WIS 82 in Marquette County

Wisconsin DOT Officials are asking motorists not to travel in the south central part of Wisconsin due to many flooded state and local highways. Please always check ahead prior to driving in areas that could possibly be flooded. More downpours are expected this afternoon so the status of the roads is changing all the time.
