Bill Murray and his wife Jennifer Murray of 10 years apparently are getting a divorce. Jennifer filed a complaint with the court where she alleges that Bill physically assaulted her. She also stated that he suffers from severe drug and alcohol addictions. She’s using the complaint as grounds for divorce and is also looking to have their prenuptial agreement nullified because of Bill’s actions. Wow, I didn’t know you could nullify a prenup, unless there was a stipulation in there where she can do it due to domestic abuse.

The Charleston Post and Courier reports:

According to the complaint, Jennifer Murray moved into a Sullivan’s Island home in 2006 with the couple’s four children due to her husband’s adultery, addiction to marijuana and alcohol, abusive behavior, physical abuse, sexual addictions and frequent abandonment. It was at the Sullivan’s Island home, according to the complaint, that Murray allegedly abused his wife in November 2007. The six-page court filing says Murray hit his wife in the face and then told her she was lucky he didn’t kill her.

Aparrently Bill Murray’s Lawyer made a statement, but did not outright deny the allegations. And in our society, the lack of denial usually is interpreted as being guilty. If this is true it is unfortunate as I really respect Bill Murray and still think he should have won an Oscar for Groundhog Day! I hope that Jennifer has a good divorce attorney as this divorce will be a long drawn out battle, especially assuming that there was a prenup involved.

It seems that more and more these days you are seeing celebrities being involved in domestic violence cases. Maybe it is becasue there is a lot more celebrity media crews that eat this kind of thing up. Domestic abuse is no joke. No one should be a victim of domestic violence. Don’t stick around for the “kids” or because you have no career. Chances are sticking around will only get you killed or severly injured as domestic violence usually continues and gets worse over time.
